Hello world, again

Dear reader,

Happy 2016! With a new year comes new resolutions, goals, and other countless ways we let ourselves down by mid-February. Well, that’s a pretty freaking negative way to start the year. Let’s try this again…

Happy 2016! I’m so excited to kick off a new year with freshly defined goals and ambitions – one of which is becoming a better blogger (hence this launch post – Thanks ProBlogger!). In the past, I have haphazardly posted projects without much thought or foresight into an overall strategy or even a plan more than a few weeks out. And then I would get frustrated that my blog wasn’t growing or that I didn’t have enough time. But to that I say, “No more excuses!”

And AWAY. WE. GO.

What is Elbow Grease Masterpiece?
Well, a blog (obvi), but it’s a place to share home improvement, decor, and DIY projects as well as intentional and frugal living ideas. The tagline here is “Never too shabby,” meaning that there is always something to be done, and always improvements that can be made. Sometimes these areas of improvement are tangible (like finally finishing painting the garage or spreading new mulch for goodness-sake – This is the year! I promise!), while there are other more intangible areas like creating new habits or becoming more intentional and productive in work and in life (Who doesn’t love a new podcast, app, or life hack every now and then?).

Who am I?
My name is Jessica, and I am a wife and dog-mom from Fishers, Indiana. You can find a bit more about me here. I also work full-time in a digital marketing / social media position. I may be implementing some of my work-related learnings here every now and then – I gotta eat my own dog food, right?

I am genuinely looking forward to not only developing my DIY skills, but also becoming a more intentional, mindful, and frugal person as well. Until next time, I’ll keep working my way through my first week of blogging. In the meantime, I’d love to get to know you. Please reach out in the comments below or if 1:1 is more your style, holla @ me here.
