Last weekend was awesome. I enjoyed every minute. As things have been a bit of a grind lately, I jumped at the opportunity to take a day off for shopping with my mom. Our Friday afternoon involved some more traditional shopping, but that morning garage sale season was in full swing. And we took full advantage.
I ended up with some treasures after dropping just $5!
My #garagesale #haul! Spent a total of $5 and came home with an antique table leg, a probably not-so-vintage fleur de lis door knocker, and a file box for my new #coupon strat + a great day with my momma! We are off to the Springfield #antique show tomorrow! #homedecor #interiordesign #homedesign #home #decor #design #diy #doityourself #homeimprovement #thrifty
You might be asking, “What the heck is the old wooden thing in that pic?” Well, it’s a pretty freaking cool old table leg that looks awesome on my hearth! It was only $2.
Next up, a fleur de lis door knocker. I didn’t need it for our front door, but I couldn’t pass it up! I ended up adding it to the old window hanging in my dining room. I’m slowly accumulating items that hang on these windows…
Last, but not least, I found a file folder holder for $1! This is key in my new coupon strategy. My mom and I had attended an extreme couponing seminar the night before and I totally fell for it. (Don’t judge!) I will now have 4 Indy Stars delivered EVERY SUNDAY. I am determined to same some fat cash. The coupons from the paper + with this site = so much savings! The folder holder was a bit drab, so I jazzed it up with some washi tape!
It was a great day! And I have some great finds to show for it! Are you a garage-saler or thrifter at heart? What’s your go-to for unique or money-saving finds?
